How do I invite and add contacts to my organisation profile?
To invite and add contacts:
Make sure you've signed in and have switched to the profile you'd like to add your contacts to
Go to your Dashboard (click on the cog icon at the top of your screen to get there)
Click on 'Invite a contact'
If you'd like to invite just one contact, you can pop their details into the fields provided on the left side of the page.
If you would like to add more than one, head over to the right side of the page
Drag your CSV file into the box, or ‘Browse’ for it on your computer and select the one you want.
You’ll then get the opportunity to adjust the field types using the ‘Import as..’ drop down menus on the right.
Once you’re happy with your chosen field types, click on the green ‘Add contacts’ button and you’re done!
Depending on how much data you’re importing the time that it takes us to process this will vary. However there’s no need for you to wait around while we do this - we’ll send you a private message when the import is complete.
Is my contact database safe on community engine?
Your contact database remains the property of your organisation and it's not available for public view. Your contacts are stored within your organisation profile, and will only be accessible by the organisation owner and any other administrators of that profile.
While community engine is secure (we implement Verisign 256-bit SSL encryption), as the organisation owner you are responsible for the communications that occur between you and your database, and who can access your organisation profile. We encourage you to me mindful of how you use your contact database, so please ensure that you have their consent to be communicated with, and don't share their details with others. Community engine will not contact them nor will we share that information.
